There is no definitive answer to that question, although manufacturer’s guides state that a swimsuit should last anywhere between three months to a year.

That statement is sometimes accompanied by the phrase “with normal usage” but what exactly is normal usage?

For a professional or dedicated swimmer that could mean swimming daily or several times a week at least, whereas to many others, normal usage could be popping down to the local pool once a week.

How often should I get a new swimsuit?

When a swimsuit becomes faded, worn or seems ill-fitting then maybe it is time to get a new one.

Some swimsuits follow traditional styles and patterns but others may be more seasonal or trendy. What is the style now may not be in say twelve months so probably getting a new swimsuit would be an option then.
